How to Adjust Drawer Slides

Broken drawer slides can be extremely irritating. Luckily, fixing drawer slides is not a difficult process and will only take a matter of minutes. Most commonly, the glides of the drawer slide have either bent or are broken entirely. If the glides are broken, they will need to be replaced. Replacement glides can be found at your local home improvement store, along with the other materials necessary to adjust and fix the drawer slide completely.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the drawer out, then lift it up to detach from the slide track.

    • 2

Inspect the glides on the drawer or track. If the glides are just bent or not aligned properly, push them back into place with the pliers or bend them back into proper shape. Once this is done, put the drawer back on the slide and test it.

    • 3

Unscrew the glides if they are broken.

    • 4

Insert the new glides onto the slide or drawer, then screw them in place. Put the drawer back on the slide and test to see if it works.
