How to Assemble a Wine Glass Stand

For the wine connoisseur who is also a do-it-yourself consumer, there are many wine glass stand kits from which to choose. These kits all include the same basic components, which are shelves for wine bottles, stemware holders and side panels that hold it all together. Your choice of wood or metal, or a combination of both, will indicate what tools you will need to complete this project successfully. In most cases, a screwdriver for a wood kit or an Allen wrench for a metal kit is all you need. These instructions are for putting together a Skybar wine stand.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather together all of the parts included in your Skybar wine stand kit. Put the wine glass holder of the stand on a worktable. The side of the wine glass holder with a bar across it indicates the back of the stand. The front of it is open to receive the stems of the wine glasses.

Locate the two crossbars in the kit. Notice each bar has 6 holes; two on either end and two more spaced out between the holes on the ends. Secure one of these bars to the bar at the back of the wine glass holder with the machine screws provided. Use the screw holes in the middle of the crossbar.

    • 3

Place one of the side frames on the worktable with the fittings for the shelves facing up. The top of the side frame has fittings that are flush with the end of the side frame. Slip the glass holder and the top and bottom shelves along with the middle two shelves on the fitting of the side frame. Insert the machine screws in the holes provided, but do not tighten them all the way. Be certain that all of the holes in the shelves are facing the bottom of the stand.

Install the other side frame to the shelves facing up in the same manner, but do not tighten the screws all the way. Stand the wine glass stand upright. Check the fit of the shelves against the side frames. Tighten all of the machine screws.

Set the wooden top on the stand and secure it with the 4 wood screws provided, using a Philips head screwdriver.
