How to Store Coffee Utensils

According to Consumer Reports, over 27 million coffeemakers are sold in the U.S. every year -- that's an average of nine coffeemakers for each person over the age of 18. This explains why finding storage for the plethora of coffee utensils in your kitchen can be such a challenge. As you try to find homes for your coffee accoutrement, keep in mind that even the cleverest storage units cannot increase the amount of space available in your kitchen. Cull your collection and keep only the essentials.

Instructions

    • 1

Place coffee utensils, such as stirrers and spoons, in a covered basket, bin or tin to keep dust off your items and prevent intrusion from pests. Store items used daily in individual canisters on the countertop. Stirrers can go inside of a covered straw dispenser.

    • 2

Cover grinders, presses and coffeemakers with a cozy after you unplug, clean and cool the unit.

    • 3

Stash the items on a shelf or inside of a hutch. Select a location that is at or below eye-level if the box is large or heavy.

    • 4

Hang coffee mugs on a spinning mug rack or on a narrow shelf. Keep out only as many mugs as you need daily. Store extra mugs in a pantry or hutch.

    • 5

Store extra utensils and items that you use infrequently in a pantry or nearby closet.
