Measure the corner where the desk will go and decide how far out the desk will reach. Mark the spots on the wall, then measure diagonally how long the front of the desk will be.
Draw out the triangular shape onto your solid wood board with a carpenter’s pencil, paying close attention to all the measurements.
Cut out the triangle with a jigsaw and sand down the edges to make them smooth.
Sand down the entire desk to remove any splinters. Start with the 90-grit, then finish the sanding with a 120-grit round. Always sand with the grain and don’t press down hard.
Paint or stain the desk to your personal preference. If you're using a stain, you’ll also want to seal the wood with a varnish for a smooth and easy to clean topcoat.
Run the stud finder in the corner and mark all the studs. There should be at least two studs along the wall.
Set the mounting brackets against the wall and mark the screw holes. The mounting bracket should be mounted directly into the studs for the best support.
Drill pilot holes into the wall where you’ll place the bracket screws.
Set the brackets in place and screw them into position with the 2-inch wood screws.
Set the desk on top of the brackets and secure it from underneath using the 1-inch wood screws.
