How to Assemble a Simmons Baby Crib

Preparation

  Unpack the crib from any cardboard and styrofoam casing.

  Check the included hardware, such as screws, bolts and dowels, to make sure the correct number of parts as present for assembly. Set the pieces out in groups for easy reference during the assembly process.

  Read the assembly instructions through carefully to make sure you understand the steps before attempting to assemble the crib.

Assembly

  Stand the headboard piece up. Have a helper hold up one of the crib posts while you screw the post into place using the hex wrench and 80 mm bolts. The right post will be marked with an "R." The left post will be marked with an "L." Make sure the sleeves are pointed inward. Complete this step for both the right and left sides.

  Lightly tap the dowels into place using a hammer to attach the top of the posts to the headboard.

  Attach the sides of the crib by laying the headboard flat on the floor. Have your helper hold the right side rail against the headboard while you screw it into place using the hex wrench and two 50 mm bolts. Repeat this step for the left side.

  Stand the crib up. Have your helper hold the crib steady while you prepare to attach the mattress support. Locate the brackets on the four corners of the mattress support assembly. Attach the brackets of the mattress support assembly to the crib posts with the 15 mm button head bolt using the hex wrench.

  Have your helper hold up one end of the footboard piece and loosely attach the right foot to the bottom right of the piece using the hex wrench and two 90 mm bolts. The part will be marked with an "R." Repeat these directions for the left side. Keep these foot parts loose until you attach the footboard piece to the main frame of the crib.

  Lay the crib on the floor, headboard down, and attach the footboard piece using the hex wrench and four 40 mm bolts. Once the footboard is in place, tighten the foot pieces.
