How to Assemble a Baby Bed

The typical baby crib comes with numerous parts and pieces designed with safety in mind. While each crib manufacturer details the assembly process differently, the basics of putting together a crib are the same. It's important to assemble a baby bed exactly to the manufacturer's specifications to make sure the crib complies with all safety codes. Mount the drawer guides to the bottom of the footboard and the headboard. Use an Allen wrench to tighten the secures so that they remain in place.

    • 2

Insert screws from the outside of the headboard into the plastic washers, then through the headboard and into the stabilizer bar. Secure each one with a nut and a plastic washer. Repeat this step to attach the stabilizer bar to the footboard.

    • 3

Place your dust cover, which is a thin masonite board, on top of the stabilizer bar.

    • 4

Set the spring frame on top of the stabilizer bars. Secure the lower portion of the frame with screws and nuts.

    • 5

Determine the height you want the spring frame to be, and then mount the upper arm of the spring frame using screws and nuts. There is a low position, a middle position and a high position for you to choose from.

    • 6

Make sure the reference points on the dropside face the crib, as you get ready to install this piece. Insert the screws in the appropriate places, and then slide the dropside down. You can then pull it up or push it down so the side of the crib is in the position you desire.
