Instructions for Assembling a Rochester Stages 3-In-1 Crib

Confirm you have the following items: 1 headboard, 1 foot board, 1 drop side-rail, 1 stationary rail, 1 mattress base, 2 mattress base supports, 2 left and 2 right mattress base brackets, 2 upper T-rails, 1 lower left and 1 lower right T-rail, 2 left and 2 right claws, 2 double bed foot board posts, 4 casters, 1 guard rail, 12 5/8-inch bolts, 4 13/4-inch bolts, 8 3-inch bolts, 8 barrel nuts, 4 acorn nuts, 8 lock washers, 2 wooden dowels.

Place mattress base supports on a flat surface. Place mattress base, warning side up, on mattress supports. Align corner holes. Attach base brackets to base supports and base, hooked ends facing out. Attach lock washers and acorn nuts to 1 3/4-inch bolts and install on mattress base assembly. Use a slotted screwdriver to tighten.

Lean the headboard against a wall, plastic pieces facing you. Place the drop side rail, plastic rail upright, just above headboard T-rails. Attach upper and lower claws on the drop side rail, to the headboard T-rails. Lock the drop side in place, and repeat assembly procedure for the foot board.

Fit the mattress base, warning label up, between the headboard and foot board. Assemble a lock washer and 5/8-inch bolt. Insert into pre-inserted nuts and tighten with a slotted screwdriver.

Insert wooden dowels into each end of the stationary rail. Place the stationary rail between the headboard and foot board. Use a barrel nut to secure. Insert 4 3-inch bolts through the headboard and foot board.

Insert a full size crib mattress. Place the crib away from windows, drapes, and cords.

Convert the crib into a daybed by removing the drop side rail and mattress base. Reposition the mattress base to the middle position, and attach the guard rail using 4 2 3/8-inch bolts and barrel nuts.

Convert the daybed into a double headboard and foot board by removing the guard rail and mattress base. Unscrew the headboard and foot board. Make sure the back posts are still attached to the stationary side rail. This will become the headboard. Remove the claws from the drop side rails. Using 3-inch bolts with barrel nuts, attach the double bed foot board posts to the drop side rail.
