Instructions on Converting a Dorel Sleigh Crib to a Toddler Bed

A Dorel convertible sleigh crib is popular for its attractive wood design and its easy conversion from crib to toddler bed. Parents rely on convertible beds to save money by not having to purchase multiple beds as their child grows. It is the owner's responsibility to build the Dorel sleigh crib and toddler bed properly. When starting in crib form it is easy to convert the Dorel sleigh crib into a toddler bed.

Instructions

  Remove the rubber stoppers found on the right and left front posts on the lower drop side tracks.

  Disconnect the drop side of the crib from both the right and left front posts. Slide the drop side all the way down the track, using the guides on each side. This will allow the drop side to slide off for easy removal.

  Remove the screws from the front posts on both sides that hold the upper and lower drop side tracks in place. Remove the side tracks from the bed.

  Move the mattress support to the lowest position by removing the bolts from the back and front posts of the mattress support. Replace the bolts and mattress support at the lowest position. Skip this step if the mattress support is already in the lowest position.

  Fasten the day bed rail between the legs of the bed. Use head bolts, barrel nuts and an Allen key to secure the day bed rail in place.
