Jenny Lind Crib Assembly Directions

As you prepare for your new baby, one of the most important pieces of furniture for the nursery is a crib. The Jenny Lind Crib consists of a right headboard; a left headboard; two side rails, one shorter than the other; and a spring frame on which the mattress rests. You can assemble this crib with a Phillips screwdriver and the Allen wrench that comes in the box.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the two post brackets -- one on each outer post -- to both the left and right headboards with a Phillips screwdriver. The bracket will have three holes and will align with the holes in the headboard posts about midway down the Jenny Lind headboards.

    • 2

Attach the top rail bracket on the two outer rails of the left headboard with a Phillips screwdriver. The brackets' two holes will line up with pre-drilled holes on the Jenny Lind Crib. Screw in the bottom rail bracket on the outer rails of the left headboard. These brackets will line up to four pre-drilled holes positioned on the lower post, below the already installed post bracket. Attach brackets in the same way to the right headboard.

    • 3

Bolt the longer side rail to the left headboard with an Allen wrench, and then attach the side rail to the right headboard with the Allen bolts and washers.

    • 4

Bolt the frame to the left and right headboard in the pre-drilled holes with the flat side of the spring frame up. A variety of holes in the headboard posts allow for the spring frame to be adjusted to your preferred height. Take caution to bolt all four corners of the spring frame in the holes on the same level.

Attach the top and bottom rail shoes to the corner ends of the shorter side rail, using a Phillips screwdriver and wood screws. The rail shoes are caps that go on the top and bottom horizontal bars of the short side rail to prevent sharp edges from being exposed. The bottom shoes also contain the latch mechanism that enables the rail to slide up and down.

Line up the four rail shoes with the rail brackets on the left and right headboards. Pull the bottom rail shoe tabs out and push the side rail up until it locks into place in the brackets. Screw in the rail stops on the post brackets with a Phillips screwdriver.
