Amby Hammock Instructions

The Amby Hammock is a baby bed that rests on a metal tube-frame. The hammock hangs from the frame by a swing. The enclosed space gives the baby a feeling of security, and parents can rock the hammock gently for a feeling of natural motion that can help lull the baby to sleep. Assembling the Amby Hammock is easy, and using it properly simply requires placing the baby in the hammock correctly.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill your sink with lukewarm water and a scoop of mild laundry detergent. Submerge the hammock into the water and handwash it. Repeat with the sheets and the mattress cover. Rinse each article in clean water and hang them to drip dry.

    • 2

Slide the six interlocking frame tubes into one another in numerical order. The tubes should be labeled when you open the package.

    • 3

Insert the eye bolt up through the hole in the top of the hammock's frame. Slip the washer over the end of the eye bolt and tighten the nut over the washer with the wrench. The bolt should stick up one-quarter inch out of the top of the nut. Hang the end of the hammock spring over the eye of the bolt.

    • 4

Slide the hammock onto the crossbar by pushing the hook in the middle of the crossbar through the hole in the top of the hammock. Loop the Velcro strap around the hammock material and secure it tightly. Hang the hook in the middle of the crossbar on the end of the spring attached to the frame. Tie one end of the back-up strap to the eye bolt and the other end to the crossbar hook.

    • 5

Push each side of the hammock into its corresponding slot on the crossbar. Pull the ties up on each side and tie them into bows.

    • 6

Lay the mattress into the hammock, making sure that the head end goes in first. Cover the mattress with the mattress cover and any sheets you purchased.

    • 7

Place the baby into the hammock head first, on his back. Place the baby with his head at the end with the netting. The baby's waist should line up with the location of the spring. Zip up the open end of the hammock by the baby's feet once the baby is inside.
