How to Get Attachments for Simplicity Cribs

In 2009 and 2010, U.S. Government agencies recalled several models of baby cribs manufactured by Simplicity because of a dangerous defect. The structure of the recalled cribs can buckle, causing the baby's mattress to fall. This defect poses a suffocation risk for the child. There have been several cases of the mattress falling while a child was in one of the cribs, and even one case of infant death caused by the defect. Simplicity has now ended production of all their cribs; however, you can find crib attachments through Simplicity's previous retailers. Some recalled models can still be safely used with the right attachments.

Instructions

    • 1

Identify which crib model you have by checking the assembly manual. Make sure the version of the crib you have is not a recalled model. Check the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website to look for recalls. If the model of your crib is one of the recalled models, you will have to order additional attachments to make the crib usable for your child.

Call or visit the store you ordered the crib from and tell them your model number along with what attachments you would like them to order for you.

Install the attachment by following the manual's instructions. If you have any questions regarding installation, contact your retailer for further instructions. Proper installation will ensure your baby's safety while using the crib.
