How to Convert a Graco Lauren to a Full Size Bed

If your child has outgrown his Graco Lauren crib and toddler bed, you do not need to invest in a new bed for him. The Graco Lauren crib easily converts to a full-size bed, making this crib last for many years past childhood. To convert this crib into a full-size bed, you will need to purchase a full-size metal bed frame, as the crib converts into a full-size headboard only.

  • Flat head screwdriver

Instructions

      Remove the front side of the crib. Remove the screw on the left side as well as the screw on the right side of the block rail, which is located under the front side of the crib. Use an Allen wrench and screwdriver. Allow the front side to drop from the crib, guiding it with your hand. Remove the two leftover screws and two leftover bolts on the top of the front side of the crib; a bolt and screw is located on each end. Store the leftover screws and front side of the crib in a safe location.

      Remove the mattress support from the crib. Locate the support tabs connecting the mattress support to each corner of the crib. Remove the bolts holding the support tabs in place by using an Allen wrench. Store the bolts and mattress support.

      Remove the crib sides and the stabilizer bar. Remove the wood dowels, barrel nuts and bolts located on the top and bottom of each crib side. Store all of the parts, including the crib sides. Remove the wood dowels, barrel nuts and bolts supporting the stabilizer bar, which is the bar located on the front side of the crib. Use an Allen wrench for the bolts. Store the stabilizer bar.

      Attach the crib headboard to a full-size metal bed frame of your choice, and add a mattress.
