How to Disassemble Thomas Train Beds

Once your little engineer reaches about 50 pounds, it's time to move from his Thomas the Tank Engine toddler bed to a full-sized bed. Whether you plan to store, sell or give the molded plastic Thomas-shaped bed away, it will be easier to move if you disassemble it first. Keep all the pieces and hardware together and it will be quick to re-assemble for the next Thomas fan in line.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the mattress from the bed frame.

    • 2

Open the two screw covers on the back of the face piece. Remove the screws with a Philips screwdriver. Pull the face piece out of the frame.

    • 3

Locate the two screw covers on the underside of the black shelf above the head of the bed. Remove the screws with a Philips screwdriver and lift the black piece off.

    • 4

Lift the left side of the bed frame straight up while holding the headboard piece down. The tabs on the end of the side piece will align with the rectangular holes. Pull the tabs back through the holes. Repeat with the right side of the bed frame to remove the headboard piece.

    • 5

Remove the two covered screws from the inside of the foot board, under the face plate area on the lower left and right. Once the screws are removed, lift the foot board piece up to disconnect it from the sides.

    • 6

Unscrew the two covered screws that hold the "engine windows" in place on each side piece. Remove the window pieces.
