How to Use Hi-Gloss Glaze Spray

Maintaining a protective coating on your objects or furniture is possible with the use of a hi-gloss spray. Hi-gloss glaze lacquer is best used on wood products, and can be dispensed from a spray gun in aerosolized fashion. Spray guns project the coating outward through a nozzle. Spray guns and lacquer are available at any home decor or maintenance store and can be stored in garages, sheds, basements or underneath a kitchen sink when not in use.

Instructions

    • 1

Take your furniture and tools outside. Twist open the lid on the back of an air-powered spray gun. Pour the hi-gloss glaze lacquer into the tank until full. Reattach the lid. Adjust the air flow and fan pattern settings with the knobs on the gun.

    • 2

Place a safety mask and goggles onto your face. Pull on a pair of safety gloves.

    • 3

Aim the nozzle of the spray gun 5 to 10 inches from the surface of the object.

    • 4

Press the nozzle to power the gun. Spray the glaze directly onto the furniture. Move the nozzle back and forth and/or up and down in constant motion. Evenly spray hi-gloss glaze until the surface is completely covered. Cover all sides of the surface if the object is three-dimensional. Increase or decrease pressure on the nozzle to manipulate the gun's spraying power.
