Sauder L-Shaped Desk Assembly Instructions

Sauder Woodworking Co. is a manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture including computer desks that are designed for both home or office use. These desks are typically constructed from particle board and are secured using a cam and dowel system. This furniture is mass produced and assembly is typically the same for similar pieces of furniture. Assembling the L-shaped desk designed to go in the corner of a room is a straightforward process.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay out the pieces of the L-shaped desk on the floor. Verify that you have all of the parts and that each part is marked with a letter or number.

    • 2

Find the round holes that are on the backside of each part. Insert the round hidden cam into the holes found on each part. The arrow on the hidden cam needs to point towards the corresponding hole that is located on the side of each part.

    • 3

Insert the metal end of the connecting dowel into the hole and into the hidden cam. Push the dowel into place. You can also insert the threaded end of the dowel into the dowel hole on the part. Secure the dowel by turning it clockwise.

    • 4

Prepare the pieces that need to connect together. Align the dowel on one part with the dowel hole that is on the adjoining part and connect the parts. Turn the hidden cam clockwise 210 degrees with the flat head screwdriver to lock the parts together.

    • 5

Continue to join the parts together until you have completed the assembly of the desk. Refer to the diagram as needed in order to guide the assembly process.
