How to Open a Combination Lock on a Global File Cabinet

Global is a company that manufactures office furniture and accessories. If you need to protect sensitive documents and you aren't certain a filing cabinet with a key lock will be secure enough, you may want to think about one of Global's filing cabinets that comes with a combination lock. With no key to lose, you'll ensure that the only person that can get into the filing cabinet is you and anyone you deem worthy of the combination. The combination lock on these particular cabinets isn't very different from a standard combination padlock.

     Turn the dial on the front of the lock so that the number "0" aligns with the arrow at the top of the lock.

     Turn the dial clockwise until the first number in the combination aligns with the arrow. For example, if the number is 30, turn the dial to 30.

   • 3

     Turn the dial counterclockwise to the next number and continue past it one revolution until the arrow lines up with the number again.

   • 4

     Turn the dial clockwise until the last number in the combination aligns with the arrow. You can now pull the file cabinet open.
