How to Take Out a Bisley File Cabinet

Among European office and home office storage manufacturer Bisley's many products are vertical file cabinets. Like most other filing cabinets, Bisley file cabinets are designed to hold a vast amount of documents. Unfortunately, moving day requires taking your Bisley file cabinet out of your home or work office. The task is not difficult, but keeping your documents organized takes some time. In fact, the most simple part of the move is taking out and moving the cabinet.

Instructions

  1. Moving a Bisley File Cabinet

    • 1

Roll a hand truck into the room containing your Bisley file cabinet.

    • 2

Wrap a blanket around the hand truck to prevent it from scratching the file cabinet.

    • 3

Empty the file cabinet of all file folders and documents. Place the documents in moving boxes, and label each box using a label maker to keep your files organized.

    • 4

Stick masking tape from the edge of the file cabinet's doors to the cabinet's sides to prevent the drawers from sliding open during the move.

    • 5

Tilt the file cabinet up, and place the bottom of the hand truck under the bottom of the file cabinet.

    • 6

Ease the file cabinet into an upright position on the hand truck. Wrap bungee cords around the cabinet and hand truck.

    • 7

Tilt the hand truck backward to roll your Bisley file cabinet out to the moving truck.

Removing a Bisley File Cabinet Drawer

    • 8

Push on the plastic clips or stops located on the file cabinet drawer runners, and then pull the drawer out of the Bisley file cabinet.

If your Bisley file cabinet is not equipped with the clips or stops, then pull off its plastic sleeve.

    • 9

Grasp the lock-tabs on both sides with pliers, and twist off each tab.

    • 10

Lift the front of the file cabinet drawer up, and pull it out of the cabinet. If the drawer does not come out of the cabinet, then lift the entire drawer and not just the front to pull the back off the hooks located in the back of the cabinet.
