How to Repair a Dining Table

  1. Repair Wood Dining Table

      Tighten loose screws on the bottom of a table to make it sturdy.

      Fix blemishes and scratches by stripping the finish off of the table. Put on your rubber gloves, and apply chemical varnish remover with a paintbrush in a well-ventilated area.

      Use a scraper to carefully remove any old varnish.

      Allow the table to dry for several hours.

      Sand the table carefully with medium-grade sandpaper.

      Stain or add a coat of clear varnish to make your table look like new.
