Instructions

    • 1

Remove the seat from the vintage dinette chair by unscrewing the hardware on the bottom of the seat. Set the hardware aside for later use.

    • 2

Use a flat head screwdriver to remove any staples, nails, tack or glue on the chair seat. The chair seat should be completely clean of metal or old fabric.

    • 3

Check to see if the batting or foam cushion is in good condition. If it is not, remove it. Use the old cushion or the wood seat to trace a new cushion for the seat. Cut the foam and lay aside.

    • 4

Trace the seat bottom on the wrong side of the fabric. Add an extra 3-4 inches all the way around the seat. Cut the fabric along the traced template with fabric scissors.

    • 5

Stretch the fabric around the foam and wood seat. Staple the fabric on the underside of the seat. Trim any excess fabric from the bottom of the seat.

    • 6

Replace the seat in the vintage chair by using the same hardware that was on the chair.
