How to Remove a Deep Scratch in Wood Furniture

Deep scratches on wood furniture are unsightly and detract from the item's overall beauty. While "quick fix" scratch remedies, such as colored markers, are available, they are seldom effective on deep scratches. A method of patching must be used to remove the appearance of a deep scratch on wood surfaces. Wax filler sticks can be effective. Once a scratch is filled in with wax filler, it also might be necessary to stain the area so that it blends with the rest of the wood.
