How do I Repair a Pressboard Desk?

Manufacturers press together layers of fibers to create pressboard, a building material. Although the material has a durable surface, the joints in pressboard furniture can weaken over time. Pressboard joints are not as strong as standard wood joints. Reinforce those loose, wobbly furniture joints with glue and metal furniture brackets.Furniture brackets will provide additional support to a desk surface and leg joints, which are particularly vulnerable on desks.

Things You'll Need

  • Bar clamps

Screw the provided screws through the holes in the brackets into the underside of the desk surface and into the legs.
