How to Raise the Height of a Desk

This back pain and strain can by alleviated by raising the desk height, which allows you to sit comfortably. Luckily, you do not need to special order custom furniture. Instead, you can raise the height of your desk with store-bought desk risers.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all items from the top of the desk and set them aside.

    • 2

Using small pieces of masking tape, mark the point on the floor where the desk legs touch.

    • 3

Gently move the desk to the side so you can place the desk risers. If it is a particularly heavy desk, ask a friend for assistance.

    • 4

Place one desk riser over each masking tape mark so each riser is placed where the desk legs usually sit.

    • 5

With the help of a second person, carefully lift the desk several inches above the floor and move it over the desk risers. Set it down gently so each desk leg sits evenly on one of the risers.

    • 6

Push against the desk gently to make sure it is secure on the risers before moving all of your items back to the desk top.
