Hiding Scratches on Cloth Furniture

If you have pets, it is only a matter of time before your furniture gets scratched. While leather and wood furniture can be treated with color-matching dye or markers to mask these kinds of scratches, it is far harder to hide scratches on cloth furniture. Scratches in cloth often lead to pulled threads or gaps in the upholstery. To cover up scratches on cloth furniture, you can employ a number of different tactics.

Instructions

    • 1

Throw a quilt or blanket over the furniture. This effectively covers up the scratched areas, while also adding a cozy, personalized look to your living space. Make the most of your cover-up by using an heirloom quilt or a luxurious blanket made from velvet or faux fur.

    • 2

Order or make a custom slipcover to cover your chair or couch. This will slide over the entire piece, and keep your pet from scratching the cloth furniture any further.

    • 3

Flip the cushions to hide the scratched areas. This has the added benefit of helping your cushions to wear evenly.
