Place the sofa in the room before any other additions. The largest piece of furniture should always be the first that is placed, around which the other furniture can be organized.
Angle the couch so that a person who is sitting on it is able to see the television set. Invest in a flat-screen TV that can be mounted to the wall if your budget permits. Alternatively, other furniture can be arranged in the room so that there is enough seating aside from the couch for viewing the television.
Place all other furniture perpendicular to the couch so that they are angled toward the television. If you do not have a television, angle the furniture so that it is angled toward the couch.
Place the table at the center of the room so that it is between the furniture and the television. Put it directly in front of the couch where it will likely be used most. Also, the table is usually long and looks aesthetically pleasing in front of the sofa, which is also long in comparison to the other furniture.
Place a corner table in the room if their isn't ample space in the area for a center table.
