How to Assemble a Lane Recliner Couch

Lane recliner couches are designed to be disassembled into smaller sections, which allows you to move the couch through narrow doorways and other tight spaces. Try to move the recliner couch into the room before any other large items so you have plenty of space to lay out the pieces. This will make it easier to line up the necessary brackets and connection points before lifting the pieces.

Instructions

    • 1

Flip over the bottom portion of the reclining sofa. Insert the threads of the legs into the holes on the underside of the sofa. Tighten the legs by turning each one clockwise by hand. You might also have to insert and tighten a retaining screw on each leg.

    • 2

Lift the upholstery at the bottom of the backrest so you can access the side brackets. Ask someone to help you lift the backrest onto the frame of the reclining sofa. Ensure that the brackets line up before dropping the backrest onto the frame.

    • 3

Attach each section of the sofa if you have a modular Lane recliner couch. Depending on the design of your couch, you might have to attach a bracket or metal plate to connect each section.

Cover all exposed connection points or metal brackets with the loose flaps of upholstery at the edge of each section. Turn the zippers of the cushions toward the backrest and set them on the seat. Set the pillows on the couch with the zippers turned toward the backrest or armrests.
