Turn your antique love seat upside down. If the fabric is attached by staples, use the needle-nose pliers or staple remover to disconnect it from the frame. Otherwise carefully cut the fabric along the edges of the frame in sections.
Remove the pieces by sections, such as the back, arms and headrest, with your scissors. Lay them out so you can use them as a pattern for your new fabric.
Replace any foam or batting that appears to be damaged or worn down. Your new stuffing should be relatively the same size as the old stuffing or your new upholstery won’t fit.
Put the new fabric pieces over your old fabric and pin the edges down. Use the chalk to draw a line around the new fabric piece. Cut the piece out with electric scissors. Repeat this for every piece.
Install the back piece first by stapling it along the top and bottom edges of the love seat. Then lay the front piece out so that the edge barely overlaps the top edge of the back piece fabric. Staple it into place and then repeat for the bottom edge of the front piece. There should be no sagging in the material after you staple.
Staple the arm pieces onto your round antique loveseat.
