Train your pets to stay off the furniture. Leather sofas of any color, let alone cream, do not mix well with pets. Not only can the oils in your pets' coats stain and discolor the light colored leather, but their nails can also puncture the sofa cushions.
Check your clothes before you sit. If you sit down on your cream colored leather couch and your clothes are dirty, your couch will end up dirty too. It is also important to check that you have no sharp objects in your pockets such as car keys that can tear the leather.
Use a baby wipe to clean up spills, immediately. It is important to clean up all mishaps before they have an opportunity to set. The cleaning agents in baby wipes are gentle enough that they will not harm the leather. Keep them on hand so you have them in a pinch. You may even consider sliding a travel pack right under the sofa, so they are there when you need them.
Clean larger stains on a cream colored leather sofa with a damp, soft cloth and a small amount of moisturizing, liquid bath soap. Wet a soft cloth with water, and wring out the excess. Add a few squirts of the soap to the cloth, and rub it into the stained area. Use a second damp cloth to remove the soap residue after the stain is removed. Dry and polish the area with a dry towel.
Remove stains on a cream colored leather sofa with lemon juice. Mix a paste of one part lemon juice and one part cream of tartar, and apply it to the cream colored leather with a damp cloth. Use a generous portion of the paste, and rub it in well. Allow the paste to sit for approximately 10 minutes and remove with a damp cloth. Dry the area with a dry towel.
