Remove the cushions from the couch.
Examine the couch’s foundation. If you notice the actual couch support is broken or saggy, this is where your problem rests.
Cut a sheet of plywood to the size of the base of the couch with a saw, or have it cut at a home-improvement store. Place it under the cushions.
Unzip your couch cushion covers. Examine the foam inserts for damage. Over time, cushions can permanently sag and will need some support.
Lay foam egg-carton pieces on the floor. Place the cushion insert on top of the foam.
Outline the shape and size of the insert onto the egg carton using a pen or pencil.
Remove the insert and cut out the shape from the foam with sharp scissors.
Lay the insert on top of the foam. Put the insert and foam inside the couch cushion cover. You may have to squeeze and push the two in. Zip up the couch cushion covers and put them back on the couch.
