How to Make a Slip Cover Without Sewing

Changing the cloth on your furniture with seat covers is a quick inexpensive way to change your home décor. Save time and money by making your own seat covers without sewing. You do not need to buy expensive seat covers or spend hours sewing to create beautiful seat covers. Some cloth and drywall edge will create a tailored look. Drywall edge is light, plastic material that will hold your fabric in place, keeping your new look fresh.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut drywall edge the same length as the back of the cushions. This needs to be fairly exact. Cut the side pieces to fit between the couch cushion and the arms of the couch. The side pieces do not have to be exact, they can be slightly shorter.

    • 2

Drape a single piece cloth over your couch. It needs to be long enough on all sides to cover the couch completely, and wrap under it by at least 2 inches.

    • 3

Tuck the pieces of drywall edge behind the cushions and against the back of the couch, then between the cushions and the arms of the couch.

    • 4

Turn the couch over to expose the bottom. Staple the cloth in place on the underside frame of the couch.
