How to Keep Cushions in Place

Many couch cushions slowly and methodically make their way past the edge of the couch. If the constant repositioning of the cushions is driving you crazy, you are in desperate need of a permanent fix. However, you still want to be able to remove the cushions so you can clean the couch. This fix will help you keep the cushion securely in place while allowing you the freedom of removing it as necessary to find loose change.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all couch cushions and place them on the floor upside down.

    • 2

Measure each cushion. Typically, all the couch cushions will be the same size, but measure each cushion to be sure. Measure the width of the cushion from edge to edge. This will be where the Velcro attaches.

    • 3

Cut Velcro pieces to fit each cushion. Place the Velcro pieces together, with the fuzzy sides and secure sides attached to one another. Leave the adhesive backing on both sides of the Velcro.

    • 4

Remove the adhesive backing from one side of the Velcro and attach it near the back edge of the couch cushions.

    • 5

Separate each piece of Velcro and place the bottom strips near the back of the couch seating area, so they match the placement of the Velcro on the cushions.

    • 6

Remove the adhesive backing from the Velcro strips on the couch seating area and press them into place on the couch.

    • 7

Place each cushion back on the couch seating area. The Velcro on the bottom of each cushion should line up with the matching Velcro piece on the couch seating area and will hold the cushions securely in place.
