How to Replace a Mattress for Sofa Beds or Pillow Top Replacement

Sofa beds, beds that can be made out of sofas, often have uncomfortable mattresses. However, you can purchase a more comfortable mattress for your sofa bed or purchase a pillow top mattress replacement, which is a pillow top cover that goes over the original mattress. Both will make the bed more comfortable to guests. However, in order to put the new mattress or mattress cover on the bed, you'll have to remove the old one.

     Open your sofa bed. Untie the straps that hold the mattress to the sofa bed's frame. The straps may wrap around the bed as well. Lift the mattress off the frame and set it aside.

     Place the new mattress on the frame. In the case of a mattress cover, leave the old mattress on the frame and simply place the new cover on top of it.

   • 3

     Tie or wrap the mattress or mattress cover's straps around the mattress frame.

     Close the sofa bed.
