Apply a light mist of leather cleaner to the entire surface of the couch.
Gently brush the surface with a soft-bristled cleaning brush. This will remove accumulated grime from the surface.
Wipe down the surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove excess cleaner and dirt.
Cover any torn or worn areas with leather bonder/filler. This material is sticky and can gum into a mess if not applied slowly and carefully. Make sure you use only a little at a time, and keep the surface where this material has been applied relatively flat.
Rub leather recoloring cream onto a sponge and dab over the bonded areas. This cream must be color-matched to the color of the non-faded parts of your couch.
Set a hairdryer on low heat over the recolored areas, and use it to dry the color.
Repeat steps 5 and 6, layering pigment until the recolored areas match the color of your couch. The final layer of color must be dried with the hairdryer and then left to cure for at least two hours.
Spray leather-safe sealant over the entire couch in two very thin layers. Allow to cure for 24 hours. Don't sit on the couch or allow pets on it.
Apply a layer of leather conditioner to the surface, working it in with a dry cloth in small, gentle, circular motions.
Re-apply leather conditioner to the couch every year going forward to help it retain moisture and resist wear and tear.
