How to Measure a Couch Pull Out Loveseat

Whenever you purchase a piece of furniture for a room, there's a fear that it either won't fit in the space or through the doorway. Sofas with a pull-out bed pose an additional problem, as two sets of measurements are necessary. The bed adds significant length to the sofa, though its presence doesn't affect the moving process because the bed is folded up during transport. Taking accurate measurements of the room and furniture will ensure that you choose a piece appropriate for the space.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure across the widest section of the back or front of the couch. Note this measurement as the maximum width of the couch.

    • 2

Measure across the widest section of the narrow edge of the couch. Note this measurement as the depth of the couch with the bed folded in.

    • 3

Remove the cushions, and pull the bed frame and mattress out of the couch. Measure the length of the couch from the back to the end of the bed. Note this measurement as the depth of the couch with the bed unfolded.

    • 4

Measure the width and depth of the space in the room where the couch will be situated.

    • 5

Measure the width and height of all doorways leading from the exterior of the building into the room where the couch will be located to ensure that the couch can be moved into the room.
