Creased Canvas Chair

• The creased canvas chair was designed by an Irish designer named Ciaran Adamson. It is made from one large piece of cardboard cut into a particular shape and folded together. The shape consists of an upper section that contains the seat and the back of the chair, as well as the back legs, and a lower section consisting of three parts, which functions as the front legs. The chair was designed to be used at large, temporary events such as exhibitions, conferences and weddings. The design is simple and functional, and can be printed with any desired design.

Strandfalter

• The Strandfalter was created by Lutz Gegner and Matthias Zschaler of Berlin, Germany. It is a very simple design that creates a reclined deck-type of chair. The pattern for a Strandfalter consists of three middle sections which make up the back, seat, and face of the chair, two wings on the upper part which support the chair's back, and two other flaps on the bottom that act as supports.

Square Folding Chair

• The Square Folding Chair was designed by Joseph Peters, an American. This chair was designed so that it could be unfolded, used, then folded and transported. The layout of this chair is quite simple, consisting essentially of six sections, three in a row at the bottom, and three more in a column set above the middle square of the lower role, like an upside-down "T." One handy feature of this cardboard chair design are integrated handles which make it easy to move the chair.

Packing-Box Chair

• You can make a cardboard chair on your own using a leftover packing box. This method requires no glue, tape or any type of fasteners, although you do have to cut a few holes in the box and fit the pieces together in just the right way.

Frank Gehry Designs

• The famed building designer Frank Gehry is well-known for using cardboard in his models. Gehry liked cardboard so much that he created many different designs for cardboard chairs, based mostly on the concept of layering sheets of cardboard.
