My Zero Gravity Chair Won't Recline

There are a few easy to investigate issues that may prevent your Zero Gravity chair from reclining. The Zero Gravity Perfect Chair is made by the Human Touch company. The design was inspired by chairs used by astronauts to counteract the negative effects the increase gravitational forces during liftoff can have on the body. A reclined Zero Gravity Perfect Chair holds the spine and pelvis at the optimal angle to reduce the impact of the earth's gravitation on your body.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the power plug to make sure the Zero Gravity Perfect Chair is plugged into a working electrical socket. Test the socket with a small working lamp from another room if you are unsure.

    • 2

Get down on your hands and knees next to the Zero Gravity chair with a flashlight in hand. Turn on the flashlight and search the area below the chair as well as the chair itself. Remove any item below or in the chair that can obstruct movement.

    • 3

Sit in the Zero Gravity chair with your back against the chair back. Push down softly on the electronic recline lever located at the end of the left armrest. Release the lever when the desired chair position is reached.

    • 4

Reach up above your head and grip the rigid frame of the headrest. Recline the headrest manually by pushing back or pulling forward until the desired position is reached.

    • 5

Contact the Human Touch customer service if the recline actuator is not moving the chair (see Resources). Zero Gravity Perfect Chairs have a full coverage, three-year warranty with the original receipt. Human Touch arranges a visit from a qualified repair person or covers the shipping costs to repair the recline feature.
