How to Assemble an Aeron Chair

An Aeron chair provides physical relief for your body while you work at your office or computer desk. Several models have built-in lumbar supports. Even without the special back supports, each Aeron chair is fully adjustable to allow you to maximize your comfort level. The chair assembly instructions are short and require only a few basic tools. You can set up your new Aeron chair in a matter of minutes and begin enjoying its benefits right away.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the bottom portion of the chair with the legs on the floor. Position it so the back faces you.

    • 2

Align the four holes on the chair back with the four holes on the back of the seat. Slide the four screws that come with the chair into each of the four holes. Tighten the screws, using the Allen wrench that comes in the assembly package.

    • 3

Use a screwdriver to remove the screw set in the bottom center of the back frame. Slide the cable clip over the frame and center it over the hole. Use the long screw that came in the assembly package to secure the cable clip.

    • 4

Locate the control cable hanging from the front of the chair seat. Route it under the chair away from any other mechanism. Direct it toward the cable clip. You may have to use a pencil to open a small hole in the back of the chair for the control cable to pass through.

    • 5

Slide the end of the control cable into the slotted hole on the cable clip on the back of the chair. Pull down on the cable to lock it in position.

    • 6

Sit in the Aeron chair to adjust it. Release the paddle on the right side of the chair to raise and lower it. Lock the paddle in position to hold the height. Turn the knob on the right side forward to increase pressure on the chair's back, and turn it backward to allow the chair's back to tilt more.
