How to Decorate a Wicker Chair With Tulle

Wicker chairs are great when you need light, inexpensive seating that can function indoors or outdoors. For a special occasion, decorate your wicker chairs with tulle to brighten up the room. Tulle comes in so many colors that it's easy to find a shade that works for your event. The best thing about decorating wicker chairs with tulle is that it's quick and easy -- you won't have to spend hours making your chairs look their best.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull a piece of tulle around the back of the chair and knot it gently, so you can still pull the knot apart. Put flowers, decorations or anything that looks pretty in the knot and secure it.

    • 2

Pull a piece of tulle around the back of the chair. Pin it to the sides, just behind the edges of the chair. Take the remaining drape of tulle and create a fancy bow. Pin the middle of bow to the chair if it won't stay uptight on its own.

    • 3

Pull tulle through the spots between the wicker, if there is enough room to do so. The chair will have a braided, colorful look by the time you're done. Mix and match shades to create an even more dramatic look.

Take a large piece of tulle -- one that covers the entire chair -- and drape it over the chair. Press the tulle deep into the area around the seat so that the seating pad is holding the tulle down. Pull the tulle around the back of the chair and pin it with safety pins to keep it from falling off. Tie a bow with the remaining drape to keep it looking neat.
