How to Clean Metal Chairs

Metal chairs are often ideal for use in homes, schools, parties and gatherings because of their durability and relatively low cost. Whether you have folding metal chairs, lawn chairs or any other type of metal chair, the proper cleaning technique and products can keep your chairs looking their best. To save time and work, clean the chairs outside with a garden hose, and allow them to air dry in the sun. Clean your metal chairs at least once a year to keep them in top condition.

• Bucket
• Dish detergent
• Non-abrasive scrubbing sponge or cloths

     Rinse the metal chairs thoroughly with a garden hose to remove any loose dirt or debris.

     Fill a bucket with 2 tbsp. of dish detergent and 1 gallon of hot water.

     Dip a scrubbing sponge or cloth into the solution, and wipe the metal chairs thoroughly starting at the top and working your way down. Make sure to clean any intricate designs, crevices and the chair legs.

     Rinse the chairs thoroughly with a garden hose. Allow them to air dry in the sun, or wipe them dry with a towel.
