Measure the width of the runners, which are the curved pieces beneath the rocking chair that create the rocking motion.
Purchase four rubber feet generally used for chair legs. Feet should be as wide as the runners or slightly smaller.
Make a mark on the front section of one of the rockers, at the point at which it begins to rise off the floor. Make a similar mark on the back section of the rocker, and on the front and back sections of the second rocker.
Turn the rocking chair on its side and drill holes into the runners at these marks. Use a hand drill with a drill bit the same size as the screws of the rubber feet.
Screw the rubber feet into the holes tightly, then stand the chair upright. The rubber feet prevent the chair from rocking forwards and backwards.
