Instructions

    • 1

Remove all fabric from the old chairs. You can do this by removing staples, screws or thread and work it off using a flat head screwdriver.

    • 2

Use the old fabric pieces (if you removed them) and lay them down on the new fabric, pinning them in place. These will serve as your pattern for the new fabric.

    • 3

Cut out the pieces from the new fabric cutting slightly larger than the older pieces for some extra wiggle room when sewing.

    • 4

Pin your pieces to the existing chairs in the places they will go so that you can see a 'rough draft' of the final recovering.

    • 5

Pull the fabric smooth and tight around the area where you will attach it to the frame and then staple to the frame. Repeat this step with all the fabric pieces except for the back one.

    • 6

Sew or staple the fabric for the back to the chair.
