Executive Office Chair

• This type of chair is generally used by individuals who work in an office and need easy access to materials placed around them. Like all swivel chairs, the executive office swivel chair allows 360-degree rotation and the ability to slide forward, backward and from side to side. The executive office chair is typically made with leather of deeper shades to supply a more professional look. The more expensive options include wooden bases and arm rests. From the desk up, it would be difficult to even tell that the chair is a swivel chair.

Lower Level Swivel Chairs

• For those who work within an office setting but are at a lower level than the executives, there is a different type of swivel chair. This chair is probably the most common, and is what most will picture as a typical swivel chair; it is sometimes called a task chair. The chair is typically made out of black fabric or plastic. They will occasionally have armrests, but usually do not. The back on these chairs is usually a bit lower, but they will have a function to adjust the height. These chairs still allow full rotation.

Swivel Bar Stools

• The difference between swivel bar stools and swivel office chairs lies in the fact that the swivel bar stools have no back or wheels; only the seat swivels. Bar stools that swivel are most common within restaurant bars, but can be found in homes as well. One benefit to having a swivel bar stool over traditional bar stools is that it allows the patron to rotate. If a customer wants to turn around for any reason, perhaps to watch television or talk to a friend, it becomes easier.

Creative Design Swivel Chairs

• Many swivel chairs feature creative designs meant strictly for the home, or for an office with a more modern feel. These chairs come in countless colors, patterns and shapes. Basically, almost any chair can be made into a swivel chair. The egg-shaped chair is one of the most popular alternate designs for swivel chairs. It usually is covered with fabric, but wooden ones are also available. The majority of these chairs have somewhat of a 1960s feel to them and are more expensive than other types of swivel chairs.
