Differences Between Bar Stools and Pub Stools

Height

• The main difference between a bar stool and a pub stool is the height. Bar stools are usually higher than pub stools. The average height of a bar stool is 30 inches, while that of a pub stool is 26 inches. This can make a difference, especially if you are buying stools that need to be comfortable when used under a counter or table of a certain height.

Placement

• Bar stools and pub stools are placed at different locations. While bar stools usually can be found in bars, pub stools are placed in kitchens and lounges, and also are used at outdoor barbecues. A pub stool is more spacious and can hence prevent the elbows of occupants from banging against one another. Bar stools are sometimes placed in kitchens, too, next to the counters, but pub stools are more commonly found in such places.
