How to Attach a Monogram to a Suede Chair

Open any standard word processing program on your computer and create a new document. If you have advanced computer knowledge, you can also use a image program or graphic design software.

Type the desired monogram into the document, which consists of the first letter of the first, middle and last name. Adjust the font, size and color of the monogram until you are happy with the design.

Click the print icon on the software to create a test print out. Examine the print-out carefully, especially the colors and proceed if you are happy with it. If you are unhappy with the monogram, make any alterations desired, and print another test sheet.

Insert a sheet of iron-on transfer paper into the printer's feeder tray. This paper is available at any craft or sewing supply store. Click print again in the software and wait until the printer finishes.

Remove the transfer paper containing the monogram from the printer tray and cut around it using scissors. Leave a 1/4-inch border around the monogram.

Plug the iron into an outlet near the suede chair. Set the iron to low heat and turn off the seam function, if applicable.

Position the transfer paper onto the suede chair in the location desired. Make sure the slick side of the paper is facing outwards. Place a brown paper bag over the monogram and then place the hot iron over the bag.

Move the iron gently over the bag in small circles keeping it in place for at least 20 seconds. Remove the bag and check to see if the monogram is stuck to the suede. If so, wait one to two minutes and then peel the backing off of the monogram. The monogram will stay on the suede chair.
