  1. Floor-Mounted Designs

    • One of the most functional bar stool designs for overweight individuals is the floor-mounted design. A floor-mounted bar stool is securely attached with bolts to the floor beneath it, ensuring support, non-slippage and non-tipping stability. A floor-mounted bar stool reduces the likelihood that the stool will rest unevenly on the floor causing one of the legs to give way under added weight.

    Four-Leg Styles

    • Four-leg bar stools disperse the weight of an individual evenly across all four legs. As a result, each leg is supporting less weight than if the bar stool only had three legs. However, four-leg bar stools can tip more easily since the center of gravity shifts as an individual slides on or off of the stool.
