Can I Wash Dutailier Cushions?

Stains

• Sooner or later, some food, beverage or other item may stain your Dutailier cushion. The company recommends wiping up any liquid stains at once with a paper towel. Use a dealer-recommended stain cleaning solution, and put the solution on a white cotton cloth. Dampen the cloth first, and do not put the cleaner right on the fabric. Rub lightly from the middle of the stained area outward. Wipe off any remaining foam and use a hairdryer to dry the area.

Cleaning Cushions

• Dutailier does not recommend that customers clean cushions themselves, either by washing or having the items dry-cleaned. The company recommends bringing the cushions to a furniture cleaning professional when cleaning is required. For best results, Dutailier recommends vacuuming the chair every two weeks, and not placing it in the sun, which causes the fabric to fade. If the customer must clean the cushions personally, the company recommends using a water-based or foam cleansing product. Never use bleach on the cushions.

Cleaning Codes

• Dutailier products each have cleaning codes. While all recommend professional cleaning services, the company recognizes that some customers will attempt to clean cushions themselves. If the product is labeled WS, the customer may use shampoo specifically formulated for upholstery or mild detergent. Items with a W code may be lightly brushed for basic dirt removal, or spot-cleaned with the foam from a water-based cleaner. S code items should be spot-cleaned with a cleaner that does not contain water. If the product has an X code, do not use any type of cleaner on it other than a brush or vacuum.

Warranty

• Dutailier guarantees all products for 12 months after purchase. This warranty is only good for "normal household use." Cleaning the item outside the recommended methods may void the warranty. Check the cleaning code before washing the item and follow manufacturer's cleaning directions to maintain your warranty. If the item has a defect, contact the dealer. Also contact the dealer for any replacement parts, including cushions. You must include the serial number, item number and the original bill when contacting the dealer regarding warranty or replacement issues. Dutailier notes that some dealers may sell model no longer being produced by the company at lower prices and in "as is" condition. These products may not be covered by the warranty.
