Close the leg rest and tip the chair forward until the top of the seat back and the arms are resting on the floor.
Locate the wing nuts beneath the seat cushion springs on either side of the chair. Each nut is attached to a tension spring. If you have a Reclina-Glider Swivel Recliner, there will be thumb wheels instead of wing nuts.
Twist the wing nuts by hand in quarter-turn increments to increase or reduce the tension in the mechanism. Turn the nut clockwise to increase the tension; to reduce it, turn the nut counterclockwise.
Set the chair back up. Sit in the chair and move the handle. Repeat Step 3 to make further adjustments until you are satisfied with the results.
