How to Inflate AeroBeds by Hand

Whether you're traveling or hosting overnight guests, inflate your AeroBed mattress to create a temporary sleeping surface. No matter if you're at home or on the road, a hand-held pump, which requires no more than your own force to operate it, will help you inflate the mattress. Clear an area that will accommodate the size of your AeroBed and in no time, you'll have a comfortable, temporary bed.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the plastic cap that sits over the air release valve by turning the cap counterclockwise until it comes off, exposing the release valve.

    • 2

Remove the cap from the end of the hand-held pump.

    • 3

Place the opening on the hand-held pump over the opening on the release valve and turn it until the pump and the release valve lock together.

    • 4

Pump the lever on the end of the pump with one hand. As you pump, air will flow into the mattress. Continue pumping the lever until the mattress feels full.

    • 5

Lay on the mattress to check its firmness. If the bed is too soft, add additional air.

    • 6

Turn the pump counterclockwise to break the lock between the mattress and the pump. Pull the pump off the valve and replace the cap onto the opening of the air release valve.
