Measure the width of the bed frame with a measuring tape prior to purchasing materials. At the hardware store, purchase or cut two pieces of plywood that match the width measurements and the height of your choice. Purchase sheets of batting and fabric two inches larger in width and height on each side to accommodate folding over the two pieces of plywood.
Lay both sheets of batting down on the floor, and smooth out by hand to remove any creases or folds. Place each piece of plywood flat onto the batting, directly in the center. Fold the excess batting over the edges of the plywood, and secure to the back of the board with a staple gun. Pull the batting taut while being careful not to stretch the material too tightly.
Spread out fabric on the floor, right side down. Set each padded plywood piece down onto the fabric, directly into the center of the material. Fold over the excess fabric, and secure to the back of the plywood with evenly spaced staples, starting on the upper center portion of the board and working your way around each edge.
Press the headboard and footboard against the bedframe to determine where the screws need to be located to secure to the frame. Mark the exact area you need to drill with a pencil to act as a guideline.
Drill holes at the pencil marking on both the headboard and footboard. Attach the respective boards to the top and bottom of the bed frame with screws.
