What Are the Measurements for a Full Mattress?

Getting a good night's sleep leads to a more productive day overall. You do not want to sleep on a bed that is too small for your needs you may toss and turn all night long. A full mattress is a common bed size to use due to its relatively small dimensions in comparison to other mattresses.
  1. Length

    • A full-size bed measures 75 inches long. It's comfortable enough for the average adult, although taller adults may have problems with their feet hanging off the edge. A regular twin size bed also measures 75 inches long. The XL twin and full bed options add 5 inches to the length, increasing it to 80 inches.

    Width

    • The full-size bed measures 54 inches wide, plenty of space for an individual but slightly cramped for two people, since each person only has 27 inches of available space. A twin bed, on the other hand, is 39 inches wide.

    Queen

    • A queen-size bed is the next size up from a full and measures 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. It offers 30 inches of space to each individual for couples or plenty of space for someone to sprawl out.

    King

    • The largest bed is the king-size mattress. It measures 76 inches wide and 80 inches long for the standard size or 72 inches wide and 84 inches long for the California king. The standard king-size mattress is ideal for someone who wants plenty of space to move around during the night, while someone who is incredibly tall needs the additional length offered by the California king.
