How to Stop Sliding My Sleep Number

Sleep number beds are well-known beds designed by Select Comfort that utilize air pockets so you can choose your own preferred level of firmness in the mattress. The bed has two main chambers, one on each side, so you and your sleeping partner can each set your own firmness level, known as a "sleep number." Air pumps then fill the chambers to that setting of firmness to give you a more comfortable night's sleep. Sometimes the bed will slide in the frame while you're sleeping or you may slide toward the middle of the bed. Both problems are fixable.

Place a thin rubber mat or towel underneath the mattress. This helps provide extra friction so your own body movements won't cause the mattress to slide off the frame.

    • 2

Adjust the sleep numbers on the two sides of the bed so they are closer together. If one side is very firm while the other is very soft, you are more likely to slide toward the center of the bed where the central support is. Equalizing the two sides a bit more will help negate this problem.
